ASHBOURNE

Victoria PierQueen Elizabeth’s Grammar School AshbourneBy coincidence, the photographs above represent connections between Rhyl and the town of Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The colour postcard was sent from ‘Jessie’ in Rhyl to Mrs. Hurd, Town Hall, Ashbourne, and is postmarked 1906.

The black-and-white snapshots are of girls from Ashbourne Girls School (now Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School, Ashbourne) camping on the seafront in Rhyl in 1931.
