THINKING BACK

Little TheatreLittle TheatreAbove (TOP) is a photograph of the old Emmanuel School in Vale Road, Rhyl. During the war the building became a clinic for mums-and-kids and remained that way into the 1950s. Eventually it was demolished and The Little Theatre was built on the site; the theatre opened in May 1963.

The photo was sent by George Owen whose father was a pupil at the old Emmanuel School; George can remember having a tooth out at the clinic.

Well, I can remember joining The Little Theatre Club and coming nose-to-nose with its founder Joe Holroyd who said, “You’ll never be an actor.”
He was right!
