Having a liking for pre-WW2 films, I was sitting watching actress/
dancer/singer Jessie Matthews, who was as cute as a button, in the 1933 film ‘The Good Companions’. The film has a sequence where a concert party (troupe of performers) is touring seaside resorts. One of the resorts is Rhyl as the poster shows. We never had a theatre called the Pergola. Now I’ve said that, someone will send an email telling me that we did.
Sometimes life can be like that . . .
