A couple of weeks ago I took this picture of the Drill Hall in John Street with the knowledge and consent of the Colour Sergeant in charge. (Note to young photographers: To be on the safe side, don’t take pictures of any military establishment without first obtaining permission.)
I love the clean, angular look of the Drill Hall; it has a little decorative work but not too much. The plaque above the main entrance says: Territorial Drill Hall AD 1914; that was the year World War 1 began.
These days the building is a cadet centre and Army careers information office.
