DONKEYS TO ORDER

A regular reader says that a junior member of her household was surprised to find no pictures of donkeys on this site. Well, we here at Jones Towers aim to please so here are a couple.

Motor cars did not start to get a stranglehold on Rhyl until the 1910s. Before that, donkeys were quite a common sight in town centre streets, carrying passengers on occasional trips from the beach to shops and boarding houses.

Above (TOP) is a picture that I took in 2000. The other is a card postmarked 1937 addressed to a Mr and Mrs Randall of Tettenhall, Wolverhampton, from friends who were staying in Rhyl and having a good time.
