The photo above is from the collection of Roy and June Turner. It shows them in 1958 in Rhyl & District Operatic Society’s production of Pink Champagne , a show based on ‘Die Fledermaus’ with music by Johann Strauss II. June was a soprano but says that her strength was in acting rather than singing, and she says Roy was a fine tenor.Roy became Chairman of the Operatic Society and served in that capacity for 18 years and 25 shows. He also served as a Rhyl Urban District Councillor (Independent) for 21 years and a Flintshire County Councillor (Conservative) for 6 years.
