SMALL HURRAHS

Gordon Brown, David Cameron, Nick CleggIn the General Election the local seat, the Vale of Clwyd constituency was won for the fourth consecutive time by Labour’s Chris Ruane. Labour did comparatively well in Wales where the party has created such a level of dependency that voters are frightened to let go.

All over Wales, including in Rhyl, we have a high percentage of population on benefits and pensions, and a large number of businesses and jobs on government subsidies, and so Tory announcements of plans for big swift cuts in public spending must have sounded like a death knell. Turkeys don’t vote for Christmas.

At the same time as the General Election there were council elections in England, and I was pleased to note that not only did the racist thugs of the BNP fail to win even one seat in Parliament, but also they lost every one the council seats that they had previously conned their way into.
