Rhyl Life notes with regret the closure of The Next Chapter bookshop and coffee shop, 26 Wellington Road, near the Post Office. The Next Chapter ran free training courses for unemployed people but ran into funding problems and had to close.Rhyl Shopmobility, 155 High Street, the organisation that sells, hires out, maintains and repairs wheelchairs and shopping scooters, and takes on unemployed trainees, has hit financial problems and may have to close too.
The runes say big cuts in public spending are on the way and that means quite a few local charities and community projects might go to the wall.
